In our journey in commemorative glass art, creating our beautiful headstones and sculptural grave monuments from glass has become a profound meditation on memory and the indelible marks left on our hearts by those no longer with us whom we loved dearly. Each piece, a layered tapestry of glass, light, and colour, aims to capture the essence of a soul, its warmth, and the luminance of its spirit.
As we approach Good Friday and Easter, a time deeply ingrained with themes of sacrifice, rebirth, and hope, our hearts turn to the commemoration of those we have loved and lost. This period invites us to reflect on their profound impact on our lives, the beauty they've left behind, and how, like the seasons, life encompasses both endings and beginnings.
Good Friday's solemnity reminds us of the depth of loss and the pain of separation. Yet, it also leads us to the hope of Easter—a promise that love endures beyond the physical, that spirits continue to guide and inspire us even after they've passed into the realm of the unseen. This cycle of life, death, and renewal mirrors the artistic glass headstone-making process; from conception to creation, each memorial work of art traverses a journey of transformation imbued with emotion and meaning. In creating Glasstone's artistic headstones and sculptural grave monuments from stacked glass, we not only honour and remember the ones we've lost but also celebrate their continuing influence in our lives. Just as Easter symbolises the triumph of light over darkness, so does each commemorative artwork serve as a beacon of their enduring presence, a tangible reminder that they continue to shape our world in unseen ways.
Our client, who shared his deeply touching love story with us upon ordering a bespoke glass headstone in the form of a butterfly for his wife, expressed his experience of the power of our stacked glass headstone installed at the cemetery with us, saying, "Glasstone shines a new light on what is and will be precious. If your memories are light and easy, why should their memorial be dark and boring?" His words echo the essence of our work — to infuse light and beauty into every grave monument from glass. He continued, "Everything is truly great. Not only do I recommend it, but I truly encourage you to trust in Glasstone's head artist's understanding and suggestions. Despite the organisational difficulties they encountered, the result exceeded all hopes. It is unbelievable — it is impossible to leave the glass headstone. A huge thank you!" He also told us that the daughter could not bear going to the mother's grave, but after installing the beautiful glass butterfly headstone - she had spent a lot of time at the cemetery commemorating her mother.
This heartfelt testimony beautifully illustrates the emotional connection our commemorative glass artwork creates, showing that memory does not have to be confined to darkness or sadness. Just as each glass grave monument radiates with the luminance of cherished memories, so too does the experience of creating them transcend expectations, inviting us to cherish the experiences we shared with our loved ones and remember them in love and happiness. It highlights how our art not only preserves memories but also creates spaces that beckon us to linger, immersed in the warmth of love and happiness shared with our departed loved ones.
As a community, we can create a mosaic of memories illuminated by our shared experiences and the commemorative art that binds us. Follow our journey as we explore the depths of stacked glass grave monuments, transforming raw emotion into lasting legacies. Here's to a future filled with beauty, light, peace, and the enduring power of memory. Shipping and delivery
As soon as the glass memorial is ready, we share photos/videos with you for evaluation, prepare it for shipment and make installation instructions. We survey logistics companies to find and offer you the best delivery option. We can do the survey as soon as we know the delivery address and the exact configuration of the shipment - size and weight. We have established successful cooperation with transportation companies in various countries, but we are also open to collaboration with other logisticians, which you propose and choose! |

Production duration
The production of glass monuments lasts from 30 workdays. It mainly depends on the complexity of the design and the ongoing workload during the particular period. The work volume is usually highest during spring, whereby the production time is the most extended, starting from ~45 workdays. Therefore, we advise ordering a glass monument timely. For example, if you wish to install the memorial in spring/summer, then - autumn/winter is the best time to make the order. |

Granite base and other stone elements
You may choose to develop the granite base and stone elements with your local stonemasons or us. Making them locally will save you the shipping costs, and the stonemasons may prepare the ground and install the base as soon as it is ready. On rare occasions, making the stone parts with us will be the only option. This applies to designs where the stone and glass have to be very closely fitted (e.g. inlay of stone in glass monument or glass in boulder). |
