Stacked glass headstone prices

The price of bespoke glass grave monuments, as well as classic glass headstones, is primarily determined by the number of work hours required by the craftsmen, as each monument is exclusively handmade. The complexity of the glass headstone, including its design, shape, and to a lesser extent, its size, dictates the amount of specialist labour involved. This significantly affects the choice of cutting, edgework, and gluing techniques, as well as the cleaning and grinding procedures.

Understanding the craftsmanship behind the production of our stacked glass headstones

Each stacked glass headstone consists of hundreds of unique pieces. Even before the physical glass grave monument is created, the full headstone design mockup approved by the customer is divided into precise technical drawings in a vector program corresponding to each glass part's required parameters. During the production of the headstone, each glass piece goes through at least 7 different processing stages. Therefore, even creating a small gravestone requires several hundred working hours. The amount of glass that our masters work with within one grave monument is at least x3 greater than the actual weight of the headstone itself.

Durability and quality guarantee of glass headstones

In the creation of your bespoke glass headstone, we use only the highest quality, certified glass and adhesives that we have examined, tested and mastered over many years. In order to acquire the knowledge necessary to create the highest-quality layered glass headstones, each new craftsman must work as an assistant for at least 1.5 years in our Glasstone workshop. Lastly, the price of making a stacked glass headstone is influenced by the specifics of the materials, for example - the thickness, color and clarity of the glass sheets.

Types of glass and their price differences

We primarily utilize four types of float glass for our layered glass headstones, each offering distinct visual qualities:

  1. Clear Float Glass: This standard option exhibits a light green hue.
  2. Dark Selective Float Glass: Characterized by a deep purple or green tint.
  3. Light Selective Float Glass: Featuring a light green tone with purple, bronze, and blue reflections. Monuments made of Selective glass incur an additional cost of approximately +25-30% (minimum 1000 euros) due to the precious metal coating, resulting in more intricate work specifications.
  4. Crystal Clear Float Glass: This option boasts substantial transparency with a slight light blue-green reflection. The creation of monuments from Crystal Clear glass commands a higher cost, typically ranging from +25-35%, owing to the refined properties of the glass.

While 8mm thick glass is commonly employed for its cost-effectiveness, we may also offer 6mm or 10mm glass sheets for certain designs.
