While Glasstone glass headstones most closely match the traditional words "in light memory", they are also as durable as conventional materials. Durability is our most valued characteristic. Glasstone memorials can withstand cold Nordic winters and hot Mediterranean summers. Since 2011, our monuments have been installed in more than 15 countries. We have developed a unique method of treatment that renders high durability under different climate conditions while effectively bringing out the characteristics of glass, emphasising its purity, effulgence, and permanency.
Our glass monuments have a high weather resistance and a high impact resistance. In the years of experience, there has not been a single case of severe damage. In our experience, many concerns about lawnmowers and flying stones come from the USA as they mainly have green grass in the cemeteries. We can assure you that small flying rocks will not significantly impact the monument.
We have performed tests with small-size stones, such as flying around when the lawnmower cuts grass - throwing them on a layered glass headstone, which has no noticeable effect. This is because our monuments have mostly textured planes, whereby, even if an impact from a rock and a small piece of glass has broken off, these areas are almost invisible - just another texture. Nonetheless, suppose a large rock is thrown heavily, such as would damage granite too; the indent can easily be polished without affecting the visual quality of the monument. While on granite, such damage is much more visible due to colour and texture differences.
Moreover, we always advise customers to place the monument on a base at least 10cm high, mainly because the glass looks better when it is raised high, and also, in your case, it would further protect it from any impacts with small stones that could hit it from mowing the grass.
Lastly, in the years of experience, we have also seen our monuments withstand significant earthquake (Turkey, 2023) and a collision with a car in the cemetery. Both occasions - without damage. This is because we attend to each of our headstones individually, deciding the type of technique and additional safety features, such as stainless steel rods, sides, base, etc, to be used.
Therefore, we are the only company in the world to make and give a lifetime warranty on the durability of our layered glass monuments.

Shipping and delivery
As soon as the glass memorial is ready, we share photos/videos with you for evaluation, prepare it for shipment and make installation instructions. We survey logistics companies to find and offer you the best delivery option. We can do the survey as soon as we know the delivery address and the exact configuration of the shipment - size and weight. We have established successful cooperation with transportation companies in various countries, but we are also open to collaboration with other logisticians, which you propose and choose! |

Production duration
The production of glass monuments lasts from 30 workdays. It mainly depends on the complexity of the design and the ongoing workload during the particular period. The work volume is usually highest during spring, whereby the production time is the most extended, starting from ~45 workdays. Therefore, we advise ordering a glass monument timely. For example, if you wish to install the memorial in spring/summer, then - autumn/winter is the best time to make the order. |

Granite base and other stone elements
You may choose to develop the granite base and stone elements with your local stonemasons or us. Making them locally will save you the shipping costs, and the stonemasons may prepare the ground and install the base as soon as it is ready. On rare occasions, making the stone parts with us will be the only option. This applies to designs where the stone and glass have to be very closely fitted (e.g. inlay of stone in glass monument or glass in boulder). |
