STORY

The artist will create a unique design monument dedicated to your loved ones based on your story and submitted information. As there are plenty of visual interpretations possible from the creative and technical points of view, please answer all the questions below to allow us to get as close as possible to the desired result:

1. Story you want to narrate with the monument. Think about the person the memorial is going to be dedicated to - the boldest features of their life, what they meant to you and other people, what they loved.

2. Visual aesthetics - examine the monuments on our website and Instagram. Tell us what you liked best in terms of:
  • form - constructive or plastic; sculptural or classical; rectangular, rounded, cross, wavelike etc.
  • composition - only glass, or in combination with boulder or granite
  • monument size
  • glass stacking technique - horizontal or vertical
  • type of glass - Clear glass has a light green hue. Dark Selective glass has a deep purple or green tint. Light Selective glass has a light green tone with purple, bronze and blue reflections. The price of monuments made of Selective glass has an increment of about + 35-50% due to the precious metal coating that gives them tone and more complex work specifics associated with this type of glass. Crystal Clear glass is substantially transparent, with a slight light blue-green reflection; the cost of creating a monument from this type of glass will be higher by +25-35% due to the refined properties of the glass.

3. The approximate budget you want to allocate to the project. Our glass monuments are entirely handmade, whereby, the determining factor influencing the price is the working hours of our masters: creating 3D and 1: 1 model of the monument, a technical sketch for each layer; cutting, grinding, glueing, cleaning and final treatment of the memorial. Consequently, the shape of the monument and the complexity of its technical execution has the most profound effect on the price. The size of it remains only the second most significant factor in relation to price.

4. Photographs and dimensions of the burial site. It is also advisable to indicate the height and width of the nearest objects so that the artist can find the best proportional solution and draw an accurate 3D model.

NB

You may want to confirm with your cemetery if they have any special rules for headstones. Some cemeteries have strict size, material or safety requirements, most of which we can adapt to.

Payment
Payment sequence and instalments: Classic designs - 100% prepayment. Bespoke designs - instalments related to monument development stages.

When ordering a Classic design headstone

  • 100% prepayment
  • Orders for the following spring require a first deposit of 10% upon order confirmation and 90% upon the start of the headstone production.

When purchasing a bespoke design monument, we offer to divide the payment into the following instalments:

  • For bespoke headstones and sculptural glass monuments, the artist creates a design proposal in 3D in about ten working days. These 3D visualisations are necessary to accurately cut out the glass details. The creation of a design proposal cost starts at €250. This is a non-refundable payment, that includes up to three design alterations.
  • With the third alteration, and a comprehensive gravesite design, an additional fee will be applied, which will be added to the cost of creating the monument. More about prices here.
  • If you want to create a complete design of the burial site, the first deposit of €250 must be made before starting the design. This is a non-refundable payment that includes up to 3 design changes.
  • The first instalment comprising 50% of the total sum is payable upon approval of the design before the start of production. The first stage of the monument's creation includes cutting out the glass layers and primary treatment of the edges - grinding, and cracking, where necessary.
  • The second instalment comprising 50% is due after approving the work progress. We shall send you pictures or videos of the cut-out monument before the second development phase.  After receiving the second payment, we shall start working on the second stage of the monument creation: glueing, cleaning, final treatments of edges, where necessary - ordering the stainless steel frame and incorporation of the monument into it, or the insertion of metal rods into the memorial, the production of metallic letters (also possible in the first stage) and insertion into the glass, and engraving on the glass, preparation of instructions and packaging and organization of shipment.

Due to the upsurge of orders in the spring and summer periods, we recommend planning the purchase of the monument timely. We start taking orders for the upcoming spring a year in advance. Thus, the memorial can be created during the winter period and will be ready for installation in March / April.

  • When purchasing a bespoke glass monument in advance for the following spring/summer, we will ask you to deposit a 10% instalment as a confirmation of the design and order. This will ensure that the monument is included in the ongoing schedule of works for the winter period.
  • The following 40% instalment will have to be made before we start working on the monument in the autumn; the final 50% - before the second stage of production in winter.
  • The memorial will be ready for shipment in March / April, and you shall be able to install it as soon as the weather permits. For installation, the outside temperature has to be at least +5 degrees celsius for at least 24 hours.

Bank transfer (through online banking or at your local bank), indicating the invoice number, is the safest and only possible form of payment at the moment.
