Tomas Savickai was a man who did more in life in the name of hobby and interest than many people do in the name of obligation. He practised and attracted many people to active sports. He began organizing various motorsport competitions, including the Zemaitiya Rally - an international championship in Lithuania, which goes on for ten years now. His wife, Ingrida, who accompanied and supported him, will continue the tradition of the championship, but now without him. She says it would take a long time to name all the work done by Tomas in the 50 years of his productive life.
"He left us all an infinite gift - he made it clear that there was nothing more important than living and enjoying a truly active life. He was thankful for his existence, loved life and lived perpetually present - here and now. He lived with an open heart. Tomas loved his family infinitely; hence, not only his son called him father, but many other people ... " (Ingrida)
This is Glasstone's first monument in the diagonal glass stacking technique. This choice was made because it visually presents the most resolute rhythmic movement upward, embodying the vital activity and dynamics that subsisted in Tomas. However, the whole composition is gentle. The glass embraces the field rock as if safeguarding it. The supple interaction of two elements - stone and glass embody the most prominent feature of Thomas' life - love.

Production duration
The production of glass monuments lasts from 30 workdays. It mainly depends on the complexity of the design and the ongoing workload during the particular period. The work volume is usually highest during spring, whereby the production time is the most extended, starting from ~45 workdays. Therefore, we advise ordering a glass monument timely. For example, if you wish to install the memorial in spring/summer, then - autumn/winter is the best time to make the order. |

Granite base and other stone elements
You may choose to develop the granite base and stone elements with your local stonemasons or us. Making them locally will save you the shipping costs, and the stonemasons may prepare the ground and install the base as soon as it is ready. On rare occasions, making the stone parts with us will be the only option. This applies to designs where the stone and glass have to be very closely fitted (e.g. inlay of stone in glass monument or glass in boulder). |
