This special layered glass headstone for a husband and bespoke burial site design was inspired by twenty years of shared dreams and the serene beauty of the Maldives. A beacon of remembrance, the Maldives glass gravestone was conceived with minimalist and high-tech design principles, resulting in clean, clear lines that reflect the simplicity and depth of the couple's journey. At the centre of the beautiful glass headstone lies a shaped protrusion, a subtle yet powerful symbol of the inner light and tranquillity the husband radiated. The choice of material for the glass gravestone - crystal clear glass with a selective covering containing ~16 different precious metals - changing from subtle blue and magenta to bronze, allowing to capture the essence of the husband's spirit, shared sea and sky.
The artist designed the complete 2x2 meter original gravesite composition, drawing inspiration from memories of the Maldives' Kudadoo Island, using granite to reflect the island's sandy beaches and wooden boardwalks. The central feature of this beautiful gravesite design is a layered glass composition symbolizing an island amidst the ocean, with light grey granite representing the base and glass and yellow stone portraying the island surrounded by water, signifying the permanence of memory and the joys of a well-lived life. The special burial site composition serves as a sanctuary of remembrance and a haven of peace and joy in life's vast ocean.

Production duration
The production of glass monuments lasts from 30 workdays. It mainly depends on the complexity of the design and the ongoing workload during the particular period. The work volume is usually highest during spring, whereby the production time is the most extended, starting from ~45 workdays. Therefore, we advise ordering a glass monument timely. For example, if you wish to install the memorial in spring/summer, then - autumn/winter is the best time to make the order. |

Granite base and other stone elements
You may choose to develop the granite base and stone elements with your local stonemasons or us. Making them locally will save you the shipping costs, and the stonemasons may prepare the ground and install the base as soon as it is ready. On rare occasions, making the stone parts with us will be the only option. This applies to designs where the stone and glass have to be very closely fitted (e.g. inlay of stone in glass monument or glass in boulder). |
